Mechanism of Action AZIYUV 500 contains Azithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic that works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis. It selectively binds to the 50S ribosomal subunit of susceptible bacteria, blocking the dissociation of peptidyl tRNA from ribosomes. This arrests RNA-dependent protein synthesis, thereby preventing bacteria from producing the essential proteins required for their growth and survival. Azithromycin is bacteriostatic in action and demonstrates a broad spectrum of activity against both gram-positive and gram-negative organisms.
