Category Name Gastroenterology β Probiotic Suspension (Spore-Forming Bacteria)
Common Indications
- Restoration of gut microbiota following antibiotic therapy
- Antibiotic-associated diarrhoea prevention and treatment
- Acute and chronic diarrhoea β including traveller's diarrhoea
- Intestinal dysbiosis (imbalance of gut bacteria)
- Adjunct therapy in gastrointestinal infections
- Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) with diarrhoea-predominant symptoms
- Post-gastroenteritis gut flora restoration
- Support during and after chemotherapy-associated gut disturbances
Common Dosing
- Standard Adult Dose: 1 vial (5 ml) two to three times daily, or as prescribed by your doctor
- Children: 1 vial once or twice daily under medical supervision
- Shake well before each use
- Can be taken with or without food
- During Antibiotic Therapy: Take at least 2 hours apart from the antibiotic dose to prevent inactivation of spores
Always follow your doctor's prescribed dose and duration.
Common Side Effects Bacillus Clausii is extremely well tolerated with an excellent safety profile. Side effects are rare but may include:
- Mild bloating or flatulence during initial days of use
- Mild nausea (very rare)
Common Interactions
- Antibiotics β Should not be taken simultaneously with antibiotics as the antibiotic may reduce the viability of Bacillus Clausii spores. Separate doses by at least 2 hours
- Immunosuppressants β Use with caution in severely immunocompromised patients; consult your doctor
Special Instructions
| Condition | Guidance |
|---|---|
| π€° Pregnancy | Generally considered safe during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before use. |

| πΊ Alcohol | No specific interaction. However, alcohol disrupts gut microbiota and counteracts the benefits of probiotic therapy. |
| π Driving | No effect on alertness or driving ability. |
| π« Liver Disease | Generally safe. Consult your doctor for severe liver disease. |
| π« Kidney Disease | Generally safe at recommended doses. |
Mechanism of Action Bacillus Clausii is a spore-forming, non-pathogenic, polyvalent probiotic bacterium that is naturally resistant to many common antibiotics. When administered orally, the hardy spores survive passage through the stomach acid and germinate in the intestine to produce metabolically active bacteria. These bacteria restore the balance of the intestinal microflora by competing with and suppressing the growth of pathogenic organisms, producing antimicrobial substances, stimulating the gut-associated immune system (GALT), and restoring normal intestinal mucosal integrity and function. The antibiotic-resistant nature of the spores makes Cynbact-BC uniquely effective during concurrent antibiotic therapy β unlike many conventional probiotics that are inactivated by antibiotics.
