Mechanism of Action Joycip-500 (Ciprofloxacin) is a bactericidal fluoroquinolone antibiotic. It works by inhibiting bacterial DNA gyrase (Topoisomerase II) and Topoisomerase IV β enzymes essential for bacterial DNA replication, transcription, and repair. By blocking these enzymes, Ciprofloxacin prevents bacterial cells from dividing and replicating, ultimately leading to bacterial cell death.
Instructions to Take
- Take Joycip-500 orally, with or without food
- Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water
- Do not take with antacids, dairy products, or calcium-fortified juices β these may reduce drug absorption
- If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember; however, skip the missed dose if it is nearly time for your next scheduled dose β never double the dose
- Complete the full prescribed course even if you feel better, to prevent antibiotic resistance
- Store at room temperature, away from direct sunlight and moisture
- Keep out of reach of children
